Meet our team

Shane Bangerter - Attorney at Law

Shane Bangerter grew up in the small western Kansas town of Leoti, working hours of farm and ranch labor between school activities and university attendance. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1987 from Oral Roberts University and a law degree in 1990 from the University of Kansas School of Law. He and his wife, Kirstin, have two children, Austin and Paige. Austin flies the F-16 for the USAF, and Paige graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2019 and is an attorney here at Bangerter Law.

Shane was appointed to the Kansas Board of Regents by Governor Sam Brownback in 2013, and has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for Dodge City Community College.  In addition, he has served on the Board of Governors for the University of Kansas School of Law, and the Boards of the Dodge City Housing Authority, Dodge City Roundup Rodeo, The Alley Teen Center and Dodge City Raceway Park.

Bangerter has argued cases before the Kansas Court of Appeals and the Kansas Supreme Court. His cases have made new law in Kansas regarding a number of work issues. These efforts have earned him recognition from his peers in The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers, as an outstanding workers compensation law attorney. He has been named ‘Lawyer of the Year’ by Best Lawyers in America twice.

Shane was also named a Fellow by the Litigation Counsel of America. Membership is limited to 3,500 Fellows, representing less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers.

In his free time, Shane enjoys ranch horse competitions, flying aerobatics, and training bird dogs.

Paige Bangerter Gilmore - Attorney at Law

Born and raised in Dodge City, Kansas, Paige Bangerter Gilmore graduated from Dodge City High School, attended Dodge City Community College, and studied Political Science at Wheaton College, near Chicago, Illinois. After graduating, she attended the Kansas University School of Law, finishing in December 2019 in the top 20% of her class.

After passing the bar exam, Paige decided that in the midst of a global pandemic would be a good time to start her own law firm. She formed PAB Legal, P.A. in April of 2020 and began practicing criminal defense, juvenile defense, and serving as a representative for parents and children in Child in Need of Care ("CINC") cases in the 16th Judicial District of Kansas. Paige is passionate about serving her community by serving her clients. In 2023, Paige partnered with Shane Bangerter in Bangerter Law, P.A., serving clients in the areas of workers compensation, personal injury, and more. 

She also serves as the City Attorney for the City of Dodge City practicing municipal law. Paige also serves on the board of Santa Fe Trails Community Corrections in Dodge City, and Perfect Fit Foundation, a nonprofit organization created to provide families and individuals with special needs the support and resources they need at home in Southwest Kansas.
