The Kansas Board of Regents is the governing board of the six universities in the state of Kansas and is the statewide coordinating board for the state’s 32 public higher education institutions.  The Board also administers the state’s student financial aid, adult education, high school equivalency, and career and technical education programs.  In addition, each Board Member also serves on various committees that address higher education issues.

The Kansas Board of Regents is comprised of nine members, each of whom is appointed by the Governor of Kansas.  Governor Sam Brownback originally appointed Shane to the Kansas Board of Regents in 2013.  Shane was recently reappointed to the Kansas Board of Regents for another four year term, ending July 2021.
